Mindless Behavior (American teen pop group) To Perform In Kingston, September 28
Platinum-selling American teen pop group Mindless Behavior will be the headline act of a post-summer concert to be held at the Liguanea Golf Club, New Kingston, on Saturday, September 28.
The group is known for a plethora of hits, including Mrs Right, Girls Talkin’ Bout and My Girl, and their many collaborations with artistes like LL Cool J, Diggy Simmons, Soulja Boy, Ciara and Tyga.
X-Factor winner Melanie Amaro and Jamaican recording artistes Tifa, Jah Bouks and QQ are also booked to perform at the concert.
The show is being hosted as a collaboration between American entertainment consultant Jason Newman, Somerset Crest, 957 Music Records, Urban Angels, Zip FM and RJR, and will be produced by Junior Taylor productions, which has done work on Jazz and Blues.
According to Jason Newman, Mindless Behavior in concert will be a family-oriented event.
“I saw that there was a need for a family event and bringing a group like Mindless Behavior here will give families a chance to feel like summer is still here even though it’s over. It’s already interesting to see how much the Jamaicans are tweeting about and members of Mindless Behavior group, and they have also tweeted back to the Jamaican fans,” Newman said.
Tickets to attend the event will cost patrons $2,500 general, $3,500 VIP and $4,500 for super VIP. Tickets are available for purchase and reservation online at touchtix.net. However, next week, tangible ticket outlets will be released to the public.
“Patrons can expect a concert like any of the other big pop star names. Mindless Behavior is an exciting group and the kids will enjoy it. Here is an event that caters to patrons who are early teen to even 50-year-olds. And there will be no profanity,” he said.
Mindless Behavior has opened sold-out tours for Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber. The group was recently ranked number two as UMG artist behind Lady Gaga in terms of online presence and they have the number one artist page on MTV.com. Mindless Behavior also has over 50 million views on YouTube.com
Flo Rida Did Remix To Lady Saw’s Hit Song "Heels On"
American hip hop artiste FloRida has done a remix of the Lady Saw hit song, Heels On. In an interview with Splash, Saw expressed her satisfaction with the FloRida version.
“I’m so happy about it. I had my engineer and a few others from the industry listen to it and they are all so excited,” she said. “It’s the way he did it, it’s jazzy and fun.”
The FloRida remix is expected to be released this month.
Saw says she met the American rapper at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay in July. Both performed on the show, and FloRida pitched the idea for a remix of Heels On, Saw’s biggest hit in some time.
Lady Saw has done well collaborating with pop acts. In 2001, she appeared on No Doubt’s smash hit Underneath It All which earned a Grammy Award in 2002.
In 1999 she recorded Smile with singer Vitamin C which was also a hit in the United States.
Saw says she has resumed work on her album, Alter Ego, which stalled after equipment from her studio was stolen.
“I’ve got them back now and going full-speed ahead to have it ready by the end of the year,” she said.
Alter Ego will be released simultaneously with her debut gospel album for which she has already completed seven tracks.

Jamaican Dancehall recording artiste Konshens is making powerful commercial moves with the launch of his shoe line Konz 876. "I chose a shoe line because you can bring more culture into it. It takes a lot more effort as opposed to printing up T-shirts, plus there is a huge market for it," he said.
Judging from enquiries via his instagram and Twitter accounts the artiste has already received a record amount of pre-orders. "I think the only thing that separates us from other more mainstream genres is the lack of entrepreneurship on our part as artistes. There's so much more we can do to maximise on our potential, influence and pull power," the artiste said.
The Konz876 line is high-end shoes it is not out of reach for consumers. The brand's first release will be five different shoes. One is the 'Konz Sub', a low-top shoe which is a mix of patent leather and leather. It will be available in black and white for the males and pink and white for females. There is also 'The Gamechanger' which is a high-top shoe mixed with both leather and blue jeans.

The artist claims that the buzz has already hit the streets,"I wore my shoes on a two-week worldwide tour recently, and Konz876 has been buzzing internationally. The fifth season of The Voice is an upcoming American reality singing competition which will premiere September 23, 2013 on NBC.
Coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Loo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be returning, reinstating the original lineup after Aguilera and Green were replaced by Shakira and Usher in the previous season. Carson Daley will also return to host the show.
Samuel L. Jackson wants Usain Bolt to star in new film
Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson has said that producers are trying to get Olympic champion Usain Bolt to star in Matthew Vaughn's next movie, The Secret Service.
He confirmed David Beckham would be playing himself in the movie. It's thought filming will take place in London and other European cities. Jackson made the comments at the GQ Men of the Year awards in central London, where he presented the legend award to actor Michael Douglas.The big budget movie will see the Django Unchained star play the villain.The Secret Service is based on Mark Millar comic books and will see Colin Firth and Michael Caine play super agents. Reporters asked Jackson whether he thought footballers should enter the acting industry.
He said: "The world has changed in such an interesting way, fame is more important sometimes now than acting ability is in a certain way.
"So that will be one of the unique aspects of this film, that there'll be people like David Beckham and hopefully Usain Bolt and other people that they have in the script.
"It will be interesting to see if they get Rupert Murdoch." Other names rumoured to be making cameo appearances in the film include Adele and Sir Elton John.
The screenplay will be written by Jane Goldman, who worked with Matthew Vaughn on the Kick Ass movies.
